Tumblr dump 1 by Paperiapina Tumblr dump 1 by Paperiapina
My Tumblr is kind of full of all sorts of stuff. Most of them never end up in here DA, since most of them are sketches or random stuff, and now that I have a dumping place for them all, less of them end up here on the better looking gallery place thing.

However my Tumblr is getting all long and stuff and tedious to dig through, but I still like some of the stuff I've put there and pffff, why not.

I'm just going to make few of these dumps and, well, dump them here.

This one here includes concepts and stuff from abandoned dinosaur pirates story, my first piplup/prinplup/empoleon sketches when I decided which game I was going to Nuzlocke with, sketches from a spider/bug exhibition, me as a pony, some Wurr concept doodles and stuff from my life drawing classes. (And my rye grass pot from last Easter. It's plastic, I swear!)

As I read this I kinda stopped for a moment at the butt muscles part and felt really ashamed.
I wiggle my butt muscles when I sit down...

These are nice pictures but they don't belong in the traditional collage category.

I'd love to know where to pit these then. I have no idea of what cathegory to pick.

I understand the confusion and its a pretty common mistake. Still, when artists persist to use the collage category as the receptacle for their 'sketch dumps' it tends to bury the legitimate collage work.

I understand, and I'm sorry for misusing the cathegories. Could you help me to find a better place to put these dumps in? I guess the Traditional art > Miscellaneous is better.

These images could be designated under the 'Traditional Anthro' category as well as the one you mentioned. However---technically---these images would be best placed in your scrapbook.

"What are scraps?

Scraps, which are kept in the Scraps section of your user page, are incomplete or unrefined works that don't belong in your formal gallery. Things like sketches, quick snapshots, webcam pictures, and the like should be submitted to your scrapbook."

-from the DA FAQ

Hope I've helped. Happy New Year by the way.

And your comment to the model guy is the number one reason I couldn't do modeling. Too hard to stay still. I don't even stay still in my sleep.

I'm curious as to what that creature at the bottom is. It is awful cute, but it reminds me of a character of mine who occassionally has ribbons coming out from under her eyes.

If its a pokemon, I'll be sad. I can't keep up with the new generations P:

woah, where do you get the time to draw so much? I´m already happy if I can manage it to draw longer than a hour a day.

Most these sketches don't take much time. I don't think any of them took more than maybe half an hour to draw. And besides that, I MAKE time, some of these are drawn at school during classes and while listening to teacher (the human drawings are actually school work, the big drawings took several hours on our life drawing classes, the smaller ones were croquis and took maybe 5 minutes each. That's what croquis is).

I take my sketchbook with me wherever I go, so when an idea hits me, I dig it up and scribble something. I can easily have ten minute sketches done throughout the day that add up to a lot of time in the end. I didn't draw these all at once, you know.

thanks for the detailed answer.
okay, on an art school I would draw so much too, I think....you are so lucky...I have still more than one year until I´ll get my degree. Means: Not much time for drawing, sadly.
May I ask where and what you are you studying?

I study multimedia production at Lahti university's Institute of Design, in Finland.

And don't worry, there's no rush. Your future life will wait for you. :) I took a peek at your gallery and it seems you're mostly digital artist? I can see how that can limit your time to spend on drawing. If you'd like to draw more, I recommend getting a sketchbook. It doesn't need to be anything fancy, my sketchbook is about half the size of the regular standard paper, and I've even had small enough to fit my pocket for few years. If you only draw digitally, you can only use part of your time you already spend on computer to draw, but a sketchbook can travel with you wherever you go, so it's always on hand when an idea strikes you. Whether it's when waiting for bus, going for a coffee or even just watching TV, anywhere! Just grab a pencil when you feel like it and you'll have plenty more opportunities to draw, no need to wait for computer time. :)

yeah, the most stuff in my gallery is digital, but in fact I don´t often draw at the pc. From hundred pictures just ten are digital. I just don´t upload the other ones because I have a crappy scanner and the most things I don´t want to upload.
And in the last time I stopped digital painting completely because I have huge problems wih my pc. Instead of this I´m working with my beloved colored pencils. And I have more than one sketchbook, just not keeping it around. I will do this from now on. So thank you for your advices and for watching in my gallery. That was really nice of you :)
