Runefur

This is gonna be a looooong description. Please, correct me, if I make spelling errors.

It's black and white, but not completely. I got the idea for it from goldenwolf's picture Change In The Air [link] And this picture is dedicated to her, because one way she is the reason why I draw. When I first time saw her gallery few years ago I decided (after being veeeeery jealous for some time) that I won't rest before I can draw as well as she does. There is still lots to learn, but I have improved since I made the decicion.

And about the picture. The wolf there is Araule Moonshine, a.k.a. Runefur, a healer and sorceress. She would be a shaman, if she only could see properly. Runefur can't see colors. Her right eye has always been color-blind and her better eye was blinded when she fell over a cliff when she was young. She still has her shaman-powers because she tattooed herself with shaman fire. All of those markings she has have a meaning, for example the one around her eye is for seeing, the on around other arm is for strength, snake on her leg is for healing and one on her chest (behind her hand) is for protection. You should see her back..

I borrowed a book some time ago that contains information about ancient Finnish spells and I thought that it would be nice to add some of the equipment from the book to this picture. Little stone in front of her hand is called 'Ukonkynsi', Ukko's stone in English (Ukko was the highest god of ancient Finnish mythology) and it has healing powers. Lower in the picture there is a paw of a badger. It was used to finding missing things and thieves. Next to the paw there is a bear claw, used for keeping nightmares away. The last one is some kind of whip, the book doesn't tell what was its meaning, but it belonged to some matician. On the whip there are wing feathers of some bird, little bags and animal fur (I added the claws).
