I gots your hat

Hey, it's Simon again!

Perched on his shoulders, kinda, is Snöflinga, one of the five harpies living in the zoo where he works. Snöflinga was bred in Sweden, hence the Swedish name (means "snowflake". She was a snow white ball of fuzz when she was a little chick in case you wondered where it came from). The harpy group was founded to be part of an international breeding program and although they were bred separately they were raised together since chicks to form a new colony in Simon's zoo, as harpies are generally aggressive and can become lethally dangerous to each other and everyone they consider to be strangers. Forming the group was a very delicate and long process, but it was a success in that the creatures are now bonded to each other (and Simon. They seem to consider him their "matriarc") just as a natural group. The zoo staff is hoping for little harpies to really get the breeding program started, but so far the creatures haven't shown any interest in the business.

Snöflinga now has Simon's hat. Which I still think I'm drawing too small. The hat should be more ridiculous.

I sketched this today while chatting with a friend of mine in Skype, and ended up using it as an experiment in tablet drawing. After all, I have a fine, working Aiptek that I seriously use too little. Need to tame it more.

I have way too much fun with these.
